I am an Associate Professor of Biology at Walla Walla University and an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Biology at The Pennsylvania State University. My main research interests encompass three primary domains: (1) population genetic analyses of ancient humans to reconstruct our genetic history with a focus on the ancient Near East; (2) investigation of the genetic processes underlying complex human traits, particularly how natural selection and demography have shaped their present-day distributions; and (3) interdisciplinary integration of genetic evidence with archaeological and historical data to develop nuanced models of ancient societal shifts. Collectively, these domains contribute to our understanding of human adaptation, migration, and genetic diversity across temporal and geographic perspectives.
